2,000$ Gaming PC in 2026

In 2026, this 2K gaming PC only exists because the market has completely redefined what “budget” means. GPU and memory prices surged, SSDs climbed, and DDR5 doubled as AI demand consumed global supply. So this build isn’t about chasing perfection — it’s about staying smart and for the first time in a Buildlab Build Guide, Buying Used. It’s the most balanced way to game, create, and survive the 2026 price surge without breaking past that $500 line.Note - It is recommended to go and watch the video to understand how to find the "deals" that I found shopping used, That is linked right under here if you want to check it out

$1000 Intel Only Gaming PC in 2026

In 2026, this $1000 Intel build exists because GPU and memory price hikes completely reshaped what “budget” means. Nvidia and AMD pushed prices up, retailers followed with 20–40% jumps, and AI datacenter demand sent DRAM and GDDR costs through the roof. SSDs climbed, DDR5 doubled, and even consoles got hit. So this build isn’t about chasing perfect parts, it’s about building something that still makes sense in a market where every component tied to modern memory keeps getting more expensive. It’s the most realistic way to stay under $1000 without getting crushed by the 2026 price surge.

800$ Budget Gaming PC in 2026

In 2026, this entire $800 build exists because the GPU and memory price hikes basically reshaped what “budget” even means. Nvidia and AMD raised kit prices, retailers jumped ahead with 20–30% increases overnight, and AI data‑center demand pushed DRAM costs through the roof. SSDs went up, DDR5 doubled, even consoles and handhelds got hit. So this build isn’t about chasing the perfect parts — it’s about building something that still makes sense in a market where every component tied to modern memory is getting more expensive by the month. It’s the most realistic way to stay under $800 without getting crushed by the 2026 price surge.

500$ GT 1030 Gaming Pc in 2026

TBH, I do not recommend this build in 2026 or at all. I would much rather go with a RX 6600 or a B570 and a Ryzen 5 5500. However not speding 200$ on our GPU does let us get 16gb of Ram and 500gb of Storage. To be Up front as well, I would buy the GT 1030 Used for like 20 - 50 dollars. If you do go used i would make sure to get the GDDR5 Version and still 2gb. Also if you do go used, I would also get the Ram Used as well. You could stay with 16gb and get that for most likely half the price (50) or you could go with 32 for again most likely only 100$ on the used market (DDR4).

Let's start you PC building Journey

$1000 Pure Performance Build Template

This will be a better 1440p / 1080p Ultra gaming system compared to the $800 build template. We’re getting slightly more CPU and GPU performance, but everything else remains similar. Yes in 2026 we are still stick to AM4. The Price of DDR5 Right now, gives us a strong reason to stay on AM4 and DDR4

Detailed Parts List

This 1000$ Pure Preformance Gaming PC is most likely the best FPS per Dollar Gaming PC on the market Right now. Every Part will have a AM4, AM5, and Intel Option. The Intel Option will be LGA 1700 with DDR4. AMD is just the best pick for FPS per Dollar Value in 2026.

CPU

For this build we are going from a 6 core Ryzen 5 9600X. Yes we are making the jump to AM5. I am well aware that i said that "If Your Trying to squeeze Every Dollar, AM4 is still the play." in my "1000 AM5 Budget Build in 2026" Video, But I do believe that future proofing, at his price range is what you should go for with "Pure Performance". Because of the Less FPS per dollar value with AM5 however, I will give options for AM4 and like always, Intel. Now that that is out of the way, The Ryzen 5 9600X is a great CPU and the Cheapest AM5 CPU right now. With 6 cores and 12 threads you are getting some great performance in Games. The Best AM4 Equivalent is the Ryzen 5 5600 with 6 Cores and 12 threads however with the price tag of about 10$ Less than the 9600X, I would consider it for this price range. However a good option if you want to future proof is the 9600X.I do not really consider any Intel CPUs at this price point. The Intel i5 12400F isn’t a bad idea, with it's 6 cores and 12 Threads, but I like the 9600X more for this price range. Keep in mind that you’ll need a different motherboard if you go with Intel than what I have listed.CPU Cooler: Go with the stock cooler that comes included with the Ryzen 5’s. It is good enough for the price range of this build.

Motherboard

For The Motherboard is is a No Brainer. Go with any / the cheapest B650 MB. Easy as that. If you can score a B850 for 100$ that could work as well but you are more likely to find a B650. You can get WIFI, It will be Cheaper to get no WIFI / you will get a better board. For this build at the moment i chose the ASRock B650 M-H DDR5 Micro ATX and if you need WIFI i pick the Gigabyte B650 Gaming Plus WIFI Micro ATX.If you are going with AM4, You can just get a WIFI B550 MB for like 80 - 100 Dollars. Just Make sure you get a B550 and not a B450 or A520.If You want to go with intel i would go with any B760 Board you can find. There is the ASUS B760M-AYW Wi-Fi D4 ll for 77$ Now. That will be your best pick for LGA 1700.

RAM

😔 Well... Here we go, The RamWe are in one of the worst markets i think we have ever been in in the last 10 Years of Pc Building. The Price of DDR4 and DDR5 has gone so far up that you will most likly never get a 32gb kit of DDR4 for 50$ Ever again. For This Build we are going with DDR5, Witch Means dropping 200$ on Ram. Make sure you go with any kit of 2x8gb sticks of DDR5 Ram clocked at 5600mgz or higher and a CL Rating of 46 or Higher. If you are going with DDR4, Make sure to get any 2x16gb (For More Capacity because it's cheaper) sticks of DDR4 Ram Clocked at 3200mgz or Higher and a CL Rating of 30 or Higher.Pretty Much if you want faster Ram and a Better Upgrade Path go with AM5 / DDR5 and if you need more capacity go with AM4(LGA 1700)/DDR4.

SSD

😔 Well... Here we go AGAIN!!! *&@# I swear i hate this market for real.So to be honest with you if you want to NVME with this price range you can go with a one terabyte NVME SSD that is going with the absolute slowest SSD with PCIE 3.0 speeds However honestly it doesn't really matter especially since 3.0 doesn't really have that much of a difference between 4.0 if you want more storage you could maybe go with a 500 gigabyte NVME and a two terabyte HDD However for this price range I would much rather you go with the 1TB NVME and upgrade your storage later rather than cheaping out on a 500 gigabyte NVME

GPU

😔 Well... It's the last bad one though... I think i found a good deal lol.The GPU market is the last part (Hopefully) that has been affected by the hole RAMaggeddon Thing. But Luckily Nvidia does have 1 good price to performance GPU in the 50 Series! So for this build we're going with the RTX 5060 8GB I can already hear you through the screen saying that the 50 series is kind of a bad price performance and I don't blame you for saying that however the 5060 has proven to be great in the price performance range I know this is the card I've gone with now two times in a row however this seriously is just the best price performance cardIf you wanted to go with an Intel GPU / get more VRAM I would go with the Intel ARC B580 12 Gigabyte That gives you four extra gigabytes of VRAM and allows you to have maybe some 1440P performance.

PSU

😇 Finally, All done. With a Ryzen 5 9600X Pulling about 65W, The 5060 Pulling about 145 and the rest pulling about 175, We are pulling 300W in Total so I would go with a 650W PSU. If you want some more future proofing I would go with a 750 Watt or even an 850 Watt power supply Just make sure you get tier C or higher on the PCU ranking tier list And mainly just get a trusted brand like MSI and etc But it's pretty simple just don't spend over $75.

Case

Something I will always say is the Case is almost always the most personal part of your hole build. It is what you are going to see everyday, it is what you will be building in, and it will be the center peace of your build that people really see. The General rule is go with Micro ATX and do not go above 80$ for this price Range. For this price range, I think the Best Case is the Lian Li Vector V100R Mini, With 4 Preinstalled Fans, This is the best 65$ Case on the Market. For Some Reason the Okinos Aqua 3 Micro ATX has been ranking up in Popularity in the past 6 Months but With only 3 Preinstalled fans for only 5$ Cheaper I would really just go with the Lian Li Vector V100R Mini for 5$ more. Again this is the most Personal Pick of the whole build so pick what you want.

$800 Pure Performance Build Template

This will be a better 1080p gaming system compared to the $550 build template. We’re getting slightly more CPU and GPU performance, but everything else remains similar.

Detailed Parts List

The reason why $800 is one of the best midrange build price on this list is because with the current market pricing, I would recommend to look on the used market for better deals. For the Used Market i would look for the RX 6600 Maybe or like a 4060 or 4060 ti. To Be Honest, This may not be the "optimal" Parts list it is the BEST Midrange Build on this list under 1000$.

CPU

The Ryzen 5 5500 is pretty much the single best option for a CPU at this build price range. It’s almost always available between $70-$90, and it’s almost as fast as the Ryzen 5 5600. If you can’t find it available, then I would first recommend buying on on Ali Express. If that’s not an option, then consider spending more money for a Ryzen 5 5600.I do not really consider any Intel CPUs at this price point. The Intel i3 12100F isn’t a bad idea, but I like the 5500 more for this price range. Keep in mind that you’ll need a different motherboard if you go with Intel than what I have listed.CPU Cooler: Go with the stock cooler that comes included with the Ryzen 5’s. It is good enough for the price range of this build.

Motherboard

We are going to upgrade the top pick for the Motherboard from the 550$ Build, The B450 May not be the newest, nor the best for AM4, for the best FPS per Doller Value it gets the Job Done. For this build we are going with any B450 Motherboard, With Ideally Built in WIFI, and 4 Ram Slots. The Cheapest Option Right now looks like the ASRock B450 M/ac R2.0 WIFI DDR4 Micro ATX. If you would like to save some money with no WIFI you could go with a B550 Motherboard like the ASRock B550M Pro4 AM4 DDR4 Micro ATX. Also if you are going with the Intel CPU you can go with the MSI B760 PRO M-P DDR4 Micro ATX.

RAM

😔 Well... Here we go, The RamWe are in one of the worst markets i think we have ever been in in the last 10 Years of Pc Building. The Price of DDR4 and DDR5 has gone so far up that you will most likly never get a 32gb kit of DDR4 for 50$ Ever again.Unlike the 550$ Build, We are going with a Normal kit with 2x8gb Sticks. The Cheapest one that i see right now is the OLOy Black DDR4-2666 CL19 16GB But the rule of thumb is to not go over 125$, get a kit with a CL Rating of 16 or Higher, and Would love to find a kit in that price range clocked at 3600mhz. If you want to save some money you can go with only 1 stick of 16gb DDR4 like the Crucial DDR4-2400 CL17 16GB

SSD

😔 Well... Here we go AGAIN!!! *&@# I swear i hate this market for real.Wheel, Guess What.... If you want a NMVE you get 500gb!!!! For this build we are going with the Timetec 512GB M.2 SSD PCIe 3.0 NVMe. But, That's if you want an NVME. The Speeds Between an NVME, SSD, and HDD is Seconds between. So if you want 1tb you can go with a SATA SSD. The Best one i can find right now for the cheapest is the Western Digital Blue 1TB 2.5" SSD SATA. And If you want 2tb (For Cheaper than the SATA SSD) You can get and HDD. The Best Priced one i can see is the Western Digital Blue 2TB HDD 3.5" SATA. This one is really just what you are doing. If it is just gaming, go with the SATA SSD, If you are gaming and a Content Creator, Go with the HDD and if you are just a gaming who wants to play storage lite games and does not want to spend a lot of money and get the fastest loading times, Go with the NVME.

GPU

😔 Well... It's the last bad one though... I think i found a good deal lol.The GPU market is the last part (Hopefully) that has been affected by the hole RAMaggeddon Thing. But Luckily Nvidia does have 1 good price to performance GPU in the 50 Series! So for this Build we are going with the RTX 5060. To Be Honest, the 5060 is the best FPS per Doller Value for 300$ It is crazy that Nvidia actually makes a good Midrange GPU in 2026 lol. The Cheapest 5060 I see right now is the PNY GeForce RTX 5060 8GB. If you want to go team red, you can go with the RX 9060 XT 16gb for 400$. (Yes I know it is about 100$ more but it will be wheel spent) The Cheapest one i can see is the ASRock AMD Radeon RX 9060 XT Challenger 16GB OC. If you would like to go used, You can look for a 4060 or a RX 6600. But make sure to keep those under or right at 200$

PSU

😇 Finally, All done. With a Ryzen 5 5500 Pulling about 145W and the RTX 5060 pulling about 175W and the rest of the system pulling about 110W adding up to about 350W it makes since to go with the Cheapest 650W PSU ranked Tier C or Higher on the PSU Tier List or 80+ Silver. For this build we are going with the MSI MAG A650BN Black ATX 650W Non-Modular PSU. If you want to spend a bit more for a bit more future proofing, you could go with a 750W or 850W PSU rated tier C or higher. Like the MSI MAG A750GL PCIE5 Black 750W Fully Modular or the EVGA 850 BQ ATX 850W Semi-Modular PSU.

Conclusion

Like I said in the Beginning, I would recombed this build for 2026 if you are looking for a good midrange build, however if you just need a 1440P Build I would go for the 1000 or 1500$ Build.

$550 Pure Performance Build Template

This is the BEST 550$ Pc I could build. To be really honest with you, In the big 2026, It is just not realistic to build a "Pure Performance" Build with this budget. However, This build can still do pretty good in 1080P Med.

Detailed Parts List

The reason why $550 is the price for our cheapest build template is because with the current market pricing, I don’t recommend any New Parts Builds below this price point. You could potentially dip down around a $500 build with an RTX 3050 6GB, but I’d rather not recommend that and instead go with an Arc A580 for way better value. If you want to build a PC for less than $550, then I’d strongly consider purchasing a used GPU, and potentially more used components.

Motherboard

The price of B450 motherboards (and AM4 boards in general) have unfortunately started to increase as the supply starts to decline. There’s a good chance that AM4 based gaming PCs won’t be as relevant in the next 12 months or so, specifically because of the lack of motherboard options. My top pick (Even though it does not have Wifi) if you can find it in the MSI A520M PRO DDR4 Micro ATX, but if you can’t find it, search for any AM4 motherboard that’s mATX, has 4 RAM slots, and ideally built-in WiFi. The ASRock B450 M/ac R2.0 WIFI DDR4 Micro ATX is an option if you do need WiFi.

RAM

😔 Well... Here we go, The RamWe are in one of the worst markets i think we have ever been in in the last 10 Years of Pc Building. The Price of DDR4 and DDR5 has gone so far up that you will most likly never get a 32gb kit of DDR4 for 50$ Ever again. We are doing something wired for this build. We are going to but 1 Stick of 8gb Ram 2 times. It is cheaper than just getting a kit of 16gb ram. For this we are going with the Crucial DDR4-2400 CL17 8GB (1x8GB). Make sure you buy 2 of these for 16gb total. If you just want to buy a kit, witch will bring us up to about 600$ rather than 550$ you could go with the OLOy Black DDR4-2666 CL19 16GB

SSD

😔 Well... Here we go AGAIN!!! *&@# I swear i hate this market for real.Like i just said with the Ram, we are in the WORST PC Building market we have been in in 10+ Years. I really wanted to go with an NVME but it gives you really low storage. We are going with a 240gb NVME SSD. However the speeds between a NVME, SSD, and HDD is really nothing and i would say if you want 1tb of storage you could go with a HDD, Poetically go with the Western Digital AV-GP 1TB HDD 3.5" SATA for only like 20 extra Dollers

GPU

😔 Well... It's the last bad one though... I think i found a good deal lol.The GPU market is the last part (Hopefully) that has been affected by the hole RAMaggeddon Thing. But Luckily Intel is really good at making good Midrange GPU for a good price, Unlike there CPU's.So for this Build we are going with the Intel Arc A580. You Most Lickly have heard people say get the B570 and if you want to spend the extra 50$ you willl get a good preformance jump. This is really the only time i would prefer you look on the Used market for better deals. Just, If going used make sure you get a GPU under 225$ with at least 8gb of Vram.

PSU

😇 Finally, All done. With a Ryzen 5 5500 Pulling about 65W and the Intel Arc A580 pulling about 175W and the rest of the system pulling about 110W adding up to about 350W it makes since to go with the Cheapest 500W PSU ranked Tier C or Higher on the PSU Tier List or 80+ Silver. For this build we are going with the Thermaltake Smart W3 Black 500W Non-Modular PSU. If you want to spend a bit more for a bit more future proofing, you could go with a 650W or 750W PSU rated tier C or higher. Like the MSI MAG A750GL PCIE5 Black 750W Fully Modular or the be quiet! Pure Power 12 Black 650W Non-Modular

Conclusion

Like I said in the Beginning, I would not recombed this build for 2026, however if you just need a 1080P Medium Build this build will work perfectly. For 2026, I would go with the 800$ or 1000$ build.
